Antoinette Beenders
Acclaimed for her originality, creativity and vision, world-renowned hair stylist and 2004 British Hairdresser of the Year, Antoinette Beenders is the global creative director for Aveda. She is responsible for driving and establishing all creative elements of the Aveda brand including trends, development of products and direction of all creative imagery.
A native of The Netherlands, Antoinette joined Aveda in 1997 as a global guest artist and the creative director for The Urban Retreat Harvey Nichols Aveda Concept Salon in London. Since then, she has represented the company across the world including Australia, Denmark, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, The Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Taiwan, the United Kingdom and the United States as part of her mandate to generate awareness and create excitement for the Aveda brand and its mission.
Among Antoinette's numerous awards are London Hairdresser of the Year Award (1996 and 1997), the Avant Garde Award (1995), the Aveda Master of Arts Award (2000) and the Fellowship Hairdresser of the Year award (1999 and 2002). The International Beauty Show/New York named her Most Newsworthy Female Hair Designer Worldwide (1998). She has been nominated for British Hairdresser of the Year seven times including 2005, and won in 2004.
Offspring: Allen Ruiz
Co-owner of Jackson Ruiz Salon, Allen has spent over 12 years in the salon industry. During that time he has received extensive training at Aveda U.K., Vidal Sassoon and Toni & Guy. Allen was a presenter at the 2001 American Excellence Awards, Aveda Congress Festival 2002, Guest Artist in Aveda Master Jam and a graduate of Neill Quality College. Combined with his great vision and creativity, Allen is extremely well rounded and capable of delivering uniquely customized education.
Allen was recently selected as the 2007 NAHA Hairstylist of the Year.
