In 1984, Van Council partnered with his brother, Michael, to build a salon that would offer a high-energy atmosphere, cutting-edge design and the finest service.
Over 20 years later, with four salons in Atlanta, one in Miami and 33 partner salons in Japan, Van Michael Salon remains true to its original vision, is world-renowned and the Van Michael Salon brand thrives as a leader in the industry.
Van Michael Salon's complete dedication to client satisfaction has earned frequent accolades from fashion and beauty leaders around the world, including National Hairdresser of the Year four times (countless NAHA nominations, including five this year alone). In addition, Van Michael Salon has a client base of well over 100,000 men and women who travel from all over the country to experience a true "hair show," up close and personal, in the chairs of the talented service providers who work for Van Michael Salon.

Brandon Darragh
A hairstylist for the past 17 years, Brandon Darragh has been employed with Van Michael Salon during his entire career.
He has trained all over Europe, including completing a four-month extensive training program with Vidal Sassoon.
Brandon is the artistic director for Van Michael Salon and has played a key role in creating the extensive Van Michael training systems. He also ensures that these systems are implemented in each class. Brandon oversees Van Michael's intensive eight-hour education classes.
Outside of Van Michael Salon, Brandon also helped to create the curriculum behind the Aveda Masters Series and created recent Aveda collections. Brandon travels around the country as a Van Michael representative giving hands-on workshops for other salons.
Brandon is also an integral part of the Van Michael Show Team. His innovative techniques and unique style have allowed him to help create the trends relevant to each season.
Daniel Holzberger
As creative director for Van Michael Salons, Daniel heads up the Van Michael Artistic Team for all collections and stage work. Based in Atlanta, Daniel has the opportunity to work both in Atlanta as well as on the road. He has had the great experience of working with world renowned photographers such as Mateo, Liz Von Hoene, Ming-Shiun Wu and Babak, earning him multiple nominations for NAHA's Avant Garde Stylist of the Year. He is constantly traveling to do platform show work and teach hands-on workshops throughout the United States, Canada and Europe while holding a pivotal role with the in-house training for Van Michael Salons, as well as keeping a diverse clientele ranging from housewives to celebrities.
Jeffrey Goldenstein
Jeffrey Goldenstein began his career nearly 13 years ago at the tender age of 18. While working with Vidal Sassoon, Jeffrey trained and taught all over the country including San Francisco, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York and London.
Two years ago Jeffrey joined the Van Michael team, and his avant garde approach to hairdressing and technical skills have made him one of the companies most sought after hairdressers. His keen eye and creative skills have earned him coveted spots on both the Van Michael education team and show team.
Jeffrey's patience and hands-on teaching methods keep him quite busy with Van Michael's in house education and outside workshops around the country.
