Cosmetology Industry Association of BC hires new CEO
Tara Gilbert joins West Coast beauty organization
Feb. 26, 2010- The Cosmetology Industry Association of British Columbia (CIABC) is welcoming a new CEO to its organization, Tara Gilbert. Prior to joining the CIABC, Gilbert was president and CEO of Small Business BC where she worked on behalf of entrepreneurs across the province.
Gilbert has a strong understanding of creating and maintaining strategic alliances between governments, corporations and communities. Over the past 15 years, she has worked as an educator, consultant and CEO of several nonprofit organizations, with a focus on training and economic developments. She has served on advisory boards and committees including the BC Immigrant Talent Initiative, Vancouver Agreement- Employment Task Force, Industry Council for Aboriginal Business, and the Ministry of Human Resources Provincial Advisory Committee.
At the CIABC she will advocate on behalf of the industry and support professional development for CIABC members.
